A Dream come True

I just love chocolate - who doesn't.
The other day I was in Wal Mart and came across this 5lb Hershey Bar. Can you believe it 5 lbs.

This is the biggest candy bar I have ever seen. Needless to say I couldn't resist it. I have always dreamed of a giant Hershey bar but never thought I would actually see one.

This picture doesn't do it justice - it is awesome. And no I don't plan on eating the whole thing by myself - I am sharing

I haven't been totally lazy lately. I have started putting together another quilt. As usual I should be working on other things but I was wanting to see what this one would look like.

Now I need to get back to quilting. I have anothe practice one in the frame that should be coming out in a couple of days - hopefully.

I am having problems blogging lately. I have been blocked at work and it is so hectic at home that I haven't had much time. So I haven't been able to comment on other blogs and I have been told that there have been problems trying to comment on mine.

The Last minute gift

My grandson has been bothering me for a month to make him a holster. His was plastic and it tore up. I've been telling him I would make it for Christmas. Well Christmas Eve day I spent the better part of the day making these. So instead of one I made two.

And believe me he wears them everywhere. The minute he gets home he puts on his belt with the holsters, guns, walkie, handcuffs and anything else he can put on it. He goes out in public dressed like this. It's all his grandfathers fault - he encourages it.

Silhoutte cameo

I wasn't going to put this on here but I just can't help it. My husband gave me my Christmas present last night (he couldn't wait). He had my daughter order it without my knowing.

Here is my new Silhoutte Cameo

I played with it a little but I have too many other things to get done so it will ahve to wait.

HAVE A MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE AND A HAPPY NEW YEAR

Quilt for Christmas

I have been in the process of making a quilt for a special friend for Christmas.
A friend of mine put this together and I have been quilting it

I had my husband cut me this template and it was too big (my fault)

So I settled on the circle. Maybe one day I can quilt a perfect circle without a template.
I have taken it off the frame and have the binding almost finished.
Tomorrow it should be done.

Blog Hop Winner

Graduation went great. My daughter is now a Chemical Engineer. I am so proud . It took ten years - working a full time job and she had 2 kids in the process. We went to the graduation Friday and I tried to take pictures. Notice I said tried ........

This is where she got the diploma - notice no daughter. I missed her completely

This is where she shook hands with the dean. Look no head.
I was trying to take pictures over peoples heads - I would say I screwed up.

I used the Random Number Generator and it picked................
Lucky Number 9

Congratulations to your daughter!
How about a good fountain pen
I posted on the 9th, the 9th was my birthday, Gill commented on the 9th, Gill was the 9th commentor and the generator picked the 9.  I'd say the number 9 is lucky for Gill
I will send this out as soon as I get an address
Congratulations Gill
By the way I bought her an LSU diploma frame and she loves it.

Giveaway Day 2012 winner

I don't know about anyone else but I am wore out.
Between the Giveaway Day and the Blog Hop I have been busy - as I am sure most of you have been too.

I don't know how anyone does it - I have spent the better part of the week on my computer and I didn't manage to respond to all my comments. I know alot of people don't go back and check out the winners and see what people write. But I just want everyone to know that I read all the comments and I was going to answer them but time ran out.

Enough babble. I have really enjoyed these giveaways and I really appreciate all my new followers.

The winner of my giveaway is #145

Right now my favorite pattern is Hexagon Park from Moda Bakeshop-- but that's probably just because I'm making one now. Thanks for the generous giveaway. akmajor (at) gmail (dot) com
.
This is the worst part of a giveaway for me - picking the winner. I would love for everyone to be a winner and I feel bad for all the people that don't win.
Anyway congratulations Kate as soon as I get your address I will put this in the mail.

To everyone else thank you again and Merry Christmas

Peek at the Owls

I have finally gotten all my owls done and have been playing around with different ideas on how I want to put them together. I really like the brown fabric I found to go around them and I have a really good contrast fabric to use.

I also got in my backing fabric the other day
I can't wait to get this finished. Working on it a little here and there will probably take a little while longer.

Don't forget to look for the Blog Hop Party on Dec 9 and the Giveaway Day on Dec 12

My Blocks Complete

I joined the Block Swap Adventure at the begining of  the year and I have really enjoyed the ride. The hardest part for me was to actually remember.  Usually I forget and before I know it I'm running late. Just like the last 3 months. If I'm not carefull they just might kick me out (lol)

Yesterday I got busy and did my block partners for Oct, Nov, and Dec - Now I'm all caught up

I brought them to work with me today and if I don't forget I will go mail them at lunch.
It sure is rough getting old - the mind just isn't what it use to be.
